Woodpecker with red patch on head

There is place called Berwala located on the road leading to Morni hills from Panchkula , the only Hill station in Haryana, India. There are thick woods and water streams crossing these jungles. At this place is a bird safari.
Here we located this beautiful woodpecker with a red patch on its head. They are called."marhatta woodpecker " probably after the uniform of Maratha  warriors in older times. They have the habit of sneaking on the trunk of trees to locate the insects on them. They are easily frightened and hide on the other side of the trunk you are looking at.
