Palash Tree (Fire of Jungle)




This tree is called "Palash" in Hindi. When it blooms, it is almost flowers on the branches and very few leaves. Generally, in the jungles, these are distributed all over and it looks as if the entire area is on fire. The flowers attract lots of bees and birds who come to it for nectar and waxy compounds.

In Hindu mythology, the tree is connected to God Agni or Fire. It was cursed by Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva for disturbing them in their solace. It's scientific name is "Butea monosperma". It is used in many Medicines in India.
These trees are in the jungle area near Panchkula, Haryana
